M Lazy C Ranch

M Lazy C is a campground located in the Pike National Forest near Lake George. We have camped there several times but not recently due to the prices doubling. So in full transparency these details are a few years old.

Turn onto Road 453 off Hwy 24. The road in is rough—take it slow. It’s only about a mile, but it feels a lot longer. Stick with it, you’ll get there.

Each site does have pens. There were a couple that were covered when we stayed here. You will want to reach out to M Lazy for this information.

The trails are not marked as it is a national forest. But that's okay because you can, and should, get off trail and explore. Using your favorite tracking app so you can find your way back. This area is heavily used by ATV's and motorcycles. They must stay in the designated trails so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

The riding in the area is easy so if you're looking for a relaxing time this will work for you. If you're looking for views and more challenging trails this is not the place. However, we have stayed there and trailered out to other nearby locations with great trails.

When we stayed there we enjoyed the quiet secluded area and always enjoyed our visits.

There were cabins to rent and a large arena to ride in as well as a round pen for turn out. You'll have to check with the staff to see what's available now. There was a pavilion in the center of the horse area which was nice when we came with a group. Please check ahead now as we've heard there are a couple of tiny homes in a few sites and ATV rentals at the office.
