Aspen RIdge is a place to escape with your horses and really experience Colorado riding. There are incredible views of the Collegiate Peaks. Known for having the highest concentration of 14,000 foot peaks in the Rockies. There are several large aspen groves and many chances to see wildlife on your ride, such as elk, moose, and bighorn sheep. All call this area home. For this reason, we use sturdy panels for our horses for the night and set up electric fencing for the day. You never know what may wander through camp. There are also herds of free grazing cows that may walk through camp. And some of those mamas get aggressive! There is a ghost town called Futurity that you should check out while there. See the maps for exact location and directions. It's a must see. This is primitive camping with no hook ups, no water and no pens. The road may be a little wash boarded - go slow if needed. Enjoy!
